2015 Charleston Memorial Art

The right frame can bring the art’s story to life. In 2020 one of our customers brought this to us to be preserved and framed. In 2015, he had been in attendance at the commemoration services of those who lost their lives during the Charleston Church Massacre and he had gathered signatures from those present during President Obama’s moving Eulogy. As there had been some damage, we were faced with challenges of conservation, preservation, restoration, and digital reproduction all of which we were able to accomplish. How can we give your artwork a voice?

Ketubah

Small & simple always works so well with delicate art like this Ketubah which a customer recently brought in for us to frame. The off gold frame and fillet add a beautiful touch to this fabulous piece and will preserve the memory for years to come.

Wedding Picture

Who does not love a nicely framed wedding picture? We definitely do! And that is why we run a 15% off all wedding picture framing during the summer from June -August!

Metropolis

Nothing is too big for us! On something this large we do recommend ayrlic glazing for the customers safety and handling. We offer three different types of acrylic to meet budget needs and interests.

Art Installation of Persian Rugs

From design to delilvery this customer never had to step in our store. It was during Covid, 2020 and the customer contacted us via email. We went and picked up the rugs, provided a virtual facebook design appointment, framed the customer rugs, delivered and installed them on the customers wall. We do it all from start to finish!

Simon & Garfunkel Record

Another one of our favorites, we used a black ridged moulding to accentuate the lines of the Simon & Garfunkel record and used a shimmery vintage gray mat to give it that “classic” feel. Based on your likes and ideas, these are the types of thought processes we consider with every unique framing opportunity.

I have a Dream

This is a wonderful example of one of our favorite 3D Acyrlic Box Framed Art. We added a nice frame around the vintage metal sign to make it stand out on its own with the statue. And in Custom Framing, it is really the message that counts! We have also framed anything from footballs and basketballs shark jaws and shrouded heads!

Medals and Flag

Nothing gives us a better sense of accomplishment then when we frame the medals and flags of our serviceman. This was a special shadowbox and flagcase that displays two generations of serviceman who served from WWII through Vietnam. We can assist our customers with getting plaques made. Thank you for your service!

Michael Jordan Jersey

We were honored to frame this for a customer so we found a Jersey and we framed on for our store! It is framed with confetti white moulding, a triple mat and conservation clear glazing.

Mat and Glass Replacements

Accidents happen and we are here to help! We can help clean up the frame and touch up any existing damage, replace the glass, update the mats, and refit your piece to get it back on your wall in no time.

Frame Repair

Still love the look of Great Aunt Margie’s hand-me-down frame, but not crazy about the scratches and loose joints? We can help breathe new life into your existing frames that need a little TLC. Whether your frame needs a few touch-ups here and there or could use more intensive treatment, we can handle almost anything! Bring your piece in to the Frame & Print Shop and our expert framers will gladly take a look and see what can be done to renew your frame. We can even custom cut fresh glass and new mats using all acid-free archival materials to bring new life to your art.

Virtual Design and Framing Option

For your convenience and for those who cannot venture out, we offer free art pick up and virtual framing design by appointment. We will discuss your interests and have designs waiting for you to see on our virtual zoom or facetime call. We will then deliver and you never have to set foot in the store!

Conservation and Art Restoration Services

If we encounter a situation that we feel is beyond our ability to fix, no worries. We work closely with a skilled conservator who specializes in the preservation and restoration of acrylic, watercolor, oil paintings, fine art prints and other works on paper. Services include surface cleaning of art, repair of rips or tears in art, paint loss repair, water damage restoration, to mention a few.

Digital Photo Restoration

Do you have an old photo that needs restoration? We can help you to restore the original tones and colors of your family’s forgotten treasures. Through the use of modern digital methods, we can repair old photographs and documents without damaging the original. A snapshot of your grand-parents or the marriage certificate of your parents can become a family heirloom that can be preserved and displayed for generations to come.

FAQ

How long does custom framing take to complete?

Our turnaround time on most framing projects is currently about 3 weeks. This allows us time to order the frame and other necessary materials, and skillfully fit and finish your piece. If time is short, we can usually accommodate rush orders and will do our best to help you meet your deadline. Please note that there is an additional fee for this service. We also carry a select number of “inhouse mouldings” to choose from for quick turnaround projects and a selection of ready to go frames in a variety of colors and sizes for even faster solutions.

Will my artwork leave the store?

All of our work is done on-site and remains entirely in our care during the framing process. We are do carry special “customer art” insurance with our insurance carrier above and beyond the normal amount of insurance required. If your artwork is especially valuable, we encourage you to consult with your insurance company and have it insured while it is on our premises.

How much does custom framing cost?

The prices at The Frame & Print Shop are very competitive. You can trust that our everyday prices are as low as others who offer frequent 50% off sales. A wide variety of factor determine the overall cost, such as size, frame selection, type of glass and matting, mounting and other factors. Frame mouldings vary widely depending on the style, type of wood and manufacturer, so we carry hundreds of frame samples to fit any budget and style. With so many factors involved in determining a quote, we encourage you contact us online or by phone to help you find what you need.

Can you help me update the look of an existing framed piece?

If your piece needs a fresh look, we can cut a custom mat to fit or even replace the glass to fit your existing frame. We can even help you reuse an old frame and swap out old artwork for new to create a fresh look for less.

Do I need to make an appointment?

Appointments are encouraged but not required. Generally, we encourage an appointment if you would like to be socially distanced from others and/or if you have multiple or large items that you would like to have framed.
