Jody Nash
My journey with soft pastels began in 2020, following a move from California to North Carolina. After a decade of dedicated work in coiled pine needle basketry and a career in nursing, I found myself captivated by the vibrant landscapes of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Seeking a medium to express the beauty surrounding me, I chose pastels and instantly fell in love with the medium. My artistic exploration has since focused on capturing the essence of earth, sky, water reflections, and dramatic storm clouds, often employing non-traditional techniques to convey my vision. I am fascinated by the interplay of color, light, composition, and the emotions they evoke. My preferred pastel brands include Terry Ludwig, Blue Earth, and Sennelier, and I favor Lux Archival paper for its versatility with dry and wet media.

Together, their work invites viewers to slow down, listen closely, and engage in a visual dialogue with the elemental forces that shape our inner and outer landscapes.
