Drymounting

Dry Mounting

Dry mounting is a trusted method for giving artwork a smooth, polished appearance. This process involves permanently adhering the piece to an acid-free backing, eliminating wrinkles and creases—perfect for posters, photographs, children’s art, newspapers, and canvases. Please note: we never dry mount original artwork without your explicit permission.

Our Moulding Selection

We offer a wide selection of fine crafted wood moulding. Learn more about our vendors below.

Our Moulding Selection

We offer one of the largest selections of mouldings in the Triangle, ranging from budget-friendly value lines to exquisite, hand-carved finished corners for heirloom-quality framing. The majority of our mouldings are proudly crafted in the U.S. or Europe, ensuring exceptional quality and craftsmanship for every project.

FAQ

All of our custom framing work is completed on-site and remains entirely in our care throughout the framing process. We are fully insured for all artwork that comes through our doors. However, if your piece is especially valuable, we recommend consulting with your insurance provider for additional peace of mind.

For conservation or printing services, your artwork may be sent to a trusted third-party partner, as we work with specialized providers for those services. We cannot emphasize enough the care we take in handling every piece and remain committed to ensuring your artwork is treated safely and professionally at every step.

Our turnaround time on most framing projects is about 3 weeks. This allows us time to order the frame and other necessary materials, and skillfully fit and finish your piece. If time is short, we can usually accommodate rush orders and will do our best to help you meet your deadline. Please note that there is an additional fee for this service. We also carry a selection of ready to go frames in a variety of colors and sizes for even faster solutions.

The cost of custom framing depends on several factors, including the size of the artwork, frame selection, type of glass and matting, mounting method, and other design choices. Frame mouldings vary widely in price based on style, wood type, and manufacturer, which is why we carry hundreds of options to suit a range of budgets and aesthetics.

Because so many variables affect the final price, we recommend bringing your artwork into the store for a free, no-obligation estimate. This allows us to review your piece in person and help you choose the best framing options for your needs.

If your piece needs a fresh look, we can cut a custom mat to fit your artwork or replace the glass in your existing frame. We can also help you reuse an old frame by swapping out the artwork, giving it a refreshed appearance without the cost of a completely new frame.
